When we heard Izzy's was going to close for remodeling, we decided we HAD to have one more dinner there for old times' sake before it was... changed? Well, if it was up to the food there'd be no reason to remodel. Everything from the shrimp cocktail to the creamed spinach to the steaks to the Izzy's potatoes were EXACTLY the way we remember them from 20 years ago when we first found Izzys. Yes, it's a bit expensive compared to grilling your own, but seriously, is your SO serving cocktails and checking on your satisfaction with the meal? I didn't think so. Anyway Izzy's, we love you, we hope to see you back bigger and better than before and can't wait!

Izzy's is incredible! Went here for date night - love that this place can be casual or dressy and everyone is so polite. Service was lacking though unfortunately. Our server only checked on us a few times from start of meal to finish. It was hard to get refills on drinks. The calamari was great. The chicken piccata was sooo good. Generous portions but enough for leftovers.

The food and the service at Izzy's is always dependable. I have been coming here for over 30 years. Last night we came for my birthday and had a delightful time. Our waiter, the handsome gray haired gentleman with the French accent was the highlight of the evening. He was charming, funny and just a hell of a nice guy Our steaks and prime rib and all the side dishes were delicious. Thanks, Izzy's for a great birthday dinner.

Came here right after a workout because I was in the area and wanted steak. I got seated and was ready to order. The servers said someone will be right with me but it took a while. A server was walking by so I asked him if he can take my order. Even though I wasn't his table, he said yes. Alfredo happily took my order and gave me great recommendations. I got an old fashion drink, 20oz bone-in ribeye, pistachio carrots, and chili sautéed broccoli, and creme brûlée. Bread, free (5/5) - not chewy, freshly made from Acme Izzy's Manhattan, $15+$2 for special whiskey (5/5) - Their Manhattan drink was a cool twist of the signature old fashion cocktail. The luxardo cherries added a nice touch Pistachio carrots, side dish that comes with entree (5/5) - I was intrigued how carrots would taste with pistachios and it was an interesting soft crunch onto the carrots. It was lightly sweet, not very savory Chili sautéed broccoli, side dish that comes with entree (5/5) - If you like savory, this is it. Not spicy, just a kick of spice onto the veggie. 20oz bone-in ribeye $108 (5/5) - big and juicy, right amount of fat, correctly grilled and soft. It was a bit bland so I added some salt. Crème brûlée $14 (5/5) - vanilla bean crème brûlée with shortbread. Not too sweet, shortbread was very buttery. Great way to end a savory meal. Alfredo was funny and attentive. He noticed that I liked the luxardo cherries from the Izzy Manhattan drink so he gave me a plate with 2 sticks of the cherries to share with my date. He was very positive and had a great attitude. Amazing customer service, will be back again.

I've been to Izzy's in all its old-school glory, but that was quite a few years ago, well before Yelp was born and I became a reviewing robot. I have to admit my recent rediscovery came from the availability of their online delivery. I wouldn't have expected a place like Izzy's to offer their prime rib dinner online, but alas, these are different days indeed. Getting prime rib delivered to my front door was a treat. This would've thrilled my carnivorous dad when he was alive. The only thing he knew how to make was steak, and it was always burnt. Anyway, when I was in the mood to treat myself, I ordered the $55 Prime Rib Dinner which turned out to be quite a feast. It started with the thickly cut 12-ounce slab of meat. It was prepared medium rare, and even though it was wrapped in aluminum foil, I was surprised how warm it was from the Marina. It came with plenty of horseradish and au jus. Quite the indulgence, but there was more. Izzy's Own Potatoes were offered on the side, and they were old-fashioned scalloped potatoes covered in a creamy sauce that didn't help my waistline (photo: https://bit.ly/3CjZxBE). In another box came the side Caesar Salad. There was plenty of Romaine hearts cut into manageable spears with fresh anchovies. And they weren't stingy with the extras - croutons, a parmesan crisp, and the rich dressing and more grated parmesan in separate containers (photo: https://bit.ly/3GwYLE4). Lastly, there was a bag with a huge half-loaf of sliced sourdough, which I used for sandwiches over the coming week (photo: https://bit.ly/3VG7qYU). It probably wasn't the dining experience Izzy had in mind back during Prohibition, but it certainly hit the spot after a pandemic. FOOD - 4 stars...carnivorous craving satisfied AMBIANCE - n/a...not relevant in this case SERVICE - 4 stars...everything was packaged well and the food stayed warm TOTAL - 4 stars...prime rib delivery, who da thunk it? Went here for our first time celebrating our engagement and we were greeted with champagne! Talk about starting the dinner off right. We were fortunate enough to sit in a booth which made it feel very intimate. We got the shrimp appetizer and the sauce was amazing! We dipped our complimentary bread in the sauce to soak up the yumminess. I got the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The carrots had a delicious sauce and the broccoli was ok. Wouldn't get the broccoli again but tried my fiancé's Izzy's potatoes and those were amazing!
